בירה Pong
while out looking for food this afternoon, i saw a small sign on a large door advertising a beer pong tournament at a jewish community center in the most unassuming of buildings. my curiosity took hold and i ventured in with the encouragement of the drunken shaggy haired fellow that stumbled out of said large door. after manipulating the strange dark hallways i strolled into a vast room smelling of cheap stale beer and good times. as advertised i was now in the company of dozens of co-ed young adult jews participating in a casual sunday afternoon beer pong tournament. and on the 7th day, he who is i am rested… and got wasted.

Ruined
i accidentally shot all afternoon on 3200 iso. oops. image quality suffered a bit. but damn, parts of this city are so bombed out that you wouldn’t even notice. i didn’t realize this was a nearly demolished facade until i walked around back. from the front it looked like any other old abandoned riverfront warehouse. fingers crossed for more yuppie condos.

Gus Gus
i got home tonight around 5:30 and it was a good 15 minutes before i noticed this little guy laid up on my carpet. we’ve suspected “guests” but up until now haven’t had any proof. after my initial freak out i pulled out the camera and got pretty personal with our dearly departed friend. i wasn’t getting the shot i wanted so i did what any rational photographer would do. i busted out the scanner and set gus gus here up for digitization. rest in peace ol’ boy. you won’t be missed.

Wing Tips
while walking down 6th street towards center city i saw this falcon nibbling on a pidgeon in the middle of the street. before i could get my long lens on it got startled and flew to the top of this building. for anyone who’s bummed they don’t get to see a falcon eating a lesser bird consult this post.

Flat
this photo is dedicated to ms. molly grassi. just yesterday we had an involved discussion concerning perverts and shooting strangers in public. today i was biking around and i stumbled upon this scene. there were dozens of kids playing and biking beneath i95. the light was amazing so i stopped to shoot a bit. not a minute in and a concerned father approaches me anxiously with a ‘what the hell are you doing here weirdo’ look on his face. i explained i was a photographer and all but he wasn’t convinced until i gave him my business card which is apparently all you have to do to appease a suspicious parent. this girl was hamming it up by purposely riding by me every two seconds to have her photo taken. then she got a flat. bummer.
