this photo is dedicated to ms. molly grassi. just yesterday we had an involved discussion concerning perverts and shooting strangers in public. today i was biking around and i stumbled upon this scene. there were dozens of kids playing and biking beneath i95. the light was amazing so i stopped to shoot a bit. not a minute in and a concerned father approaches me anxiously with a ‘what the hell are you doing here weirdo’ look on his face. i explained i was a photographer and all but he wasn’t convinced until i gave him my business card which is apparently all you have to do to appease a suspicious parent. this girl was hamming it up by purposely riding by me every two seconds to have her photo taken. then she got a flat. bummer.

just a bit of voyeurism tonight. neighbor on 5th street talking to someone on the couch. she caught a glimpse of me after firing off a few so i smiled at her then ran away.

stumbled upon this street musician playing some marshall tucker band tonight. strummed a mean “can’t you see.” gave him some change. he used it as a pick.

Hot Spot
while biking around my eye caught this sunlight reflected off the back of a stop sign in south philly. blinded me and i nearly crashed into the curb.

Cool World
happened upon this colorful scene earlier tonight by 23rd and market. had this sorta noir-ish cartoony feel. like cool world. the lights of oncoming cars mixed with the street lamps and electric blue neon bulbs affixed to the walls gave off a nice glow.

growing me some veggies indoors. tomatoes doing well so far. too bad i hate tomatoes. (raw tomatoes that is)

if you love garbanzo beans hurry out to 5th and spring garden. you can easily eat your weight in these brown beauties many times over. feast well.

just another abandoned building near 5th and girard in north philadelphia. so many empty windows.

it’s cold. i hovered by a steam vent for warmth and a photo. it’s cold.

Iced Over
huge lawsuit waiting to happen. a veritable ice skating rink formed on this sidewalk at girdard and leithgow. half a city block is covered in 2 inches of ice. it’s a treacherous crossing.
